Ed Lujan, Chariman

Welcome to the heart and soul of the Assist The Officer Foundation, Ed Lujan, a dedicated Dallas Police Officer since 1996, brings more than just experience to the force – he brings a passion for service that extends beyond the call of duty.

Ed currently serves as a supervisor over the North Central Neighborhood Police Unit, where his leadership and commitment to community safety have made a lasting impact. However, his journey took an unexpected turn when he faced a critical injury. It was during this challenging time that Ed discovered his true purpose – to help fellow police officers and their families navigate the trials that can accompany a life of service. Ed experienced firsthand the support of the Assist The Officer (ATO) Foundation and, compelled by gratitude, has dedicated himself to giving back ever since.

When he's not safeguarding the community, Ed finds joy in spending quality time with his family and beloved wife. A man of diverse interests, he enjoys hitting the dance floor and exploring new destinations with his wife through travel.

Ed's commitment to community service extends beyond the police force. He generously volunteers his time at St. Ann's Catholic Church, where he teaches Bible study, and actively participates in the Knights of Columbus activities throughout the year. As a yearly tradition, Ed volunteers for Santa Cops and also dons the iconic red suit to spread joy and deliver toys to children at Children's Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Additionally, Ed proudly serves as a relay team member for the Carry the Load foundation, another non-profit organization close to his heart.

Originally hailing from El Paso, Texas, Ed is a proud graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) with a degree in Science and Education. His dedication to both education and public service reflects a profound commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others.

Ed Lujan's unwavering dedication to service, coupled with his personal experiences, makes him an invaluable member of the ATO family. We are honored to have him on board, working tirelessly to support and uplift the heroes who put their lives on the line every day. Together, we stand stronger, and Ed exemplifies the spirit of compassion and camaraderie that defines our organization.
