Joe Meno, Chairman
Joe Meno brings more than three decades of distinguished military and law enforcement service to his role as Chairman of the Assist the Officer Foundation.
Joe began his career in public service as a police officer with the United States Air Force, where he served for four and one-half years. He continued his service as a police officer in the United States Navy Reserves for six years. In 1998, Joe joined the Dallas Police Department, where he has served with distinction in a wide range of operational and instructional assignments.
During his tenure with the Dallas Police Department, Joe has held positions including Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Basic Academy Class Advisor, Police Vehicle Operations Instructor, and Covert Surveillance Officer. He currently serves as a Project Safe Neighborhood Federal Task Force Officer, assigned to the Special Investigations Division, where he works in partnership with federal, state, and local agencies to address violent crime and enhance public safety.
Joe joined the Assist the Officer Foundation Board of Directors in 2020 and was elected Vice Chairman in 2024. He now serves as Chairman, providing strategic leadership and oversight in support of the Foundation’s mission to assist first responders and their families.
Joe is married to his wife, Karen, and they are the proud parents of Nicholas, Joey, and Amelia.
