Celebrating Leadership: Thank You Ed Lujan | Welcome Joe Meno January 18, 2026

Today, we pause to thank and honor Ed Lujan for his many years of dedicated service and outstanding leadership as Chairman of the Assist the Officer Foundation.

Ed stepped down yesterday after years of guiding the Foundation with integrity, vision, and an unwavering commitment to serving first responders and their families. His leadership has left a lasting impact on our mission, our board, and the community we serve. We are deeply grateful for all he has done and continues to do in support of our first responders. Thank you, Ed.

The Assist the Officer Foundation Board of Directors has appointed Joe Meno as Chairman.

About Chairman Joe Meno:

Joe brings more than three decades of distinguished military and law enforcement service to this role. He began his career as a police officer with the United States Air Force, later serving with the United States Navy Reserves. In 1998, Joe joined the Dallas Police Department, where he has served in numerous operational and instructional roles. He currently serves as a Project Safe Neighborhood Federal Task Force Officer assigned to the Special Investigations Division.

Joe joined the Assist the Officer Foundation Board in 2020, was elected Vice Chairman in 2024, and now steps into the role of Chairman—continuing his commitment to supporting first responders and their families.
