Bronc Justin McCoy

Sergeant Bronc McCoy died from complications as the result of contracting COVID-19 in a presumed exposure while on duty.

Sergeant McCoy was a U.S. Navy veteran. He had served with the Dallas Police Department and was assigned to the Southeast Patrol Division. He had previously served with the Smith County Sheriff’s Office. He is survived by his two children, mother, father, and two siblings.

In early 2020, thousands of law enforcement officers and other first responders throughout the country contracted COVID-19 during the worldwide pandemic due to the requirements of their job. Many of these first responders died as a result of COVID-19.
